Designing on a Budget! Yes we all have one...

I am a designer at The Time 4 Design.  We create designs for realistic living in space we want to love.  All of us have watched HGTV and gotten so many ideas and inspirations for the Do-it-Yourselfer.  We guide thoughs that do not know where to start or how to end up with the envisioned outcome they visualize.  Budgets are the thing that scare everyone....I must say Design on a Dime is not realistic for a truely completed design for todays living.
We work on small budgets and large budgets.  In the end clients need to be educated in the cost of goods.  There is a difference in what you pay and what you get.  That being said, you can get what you want that is good quality for a value price if you look and are patient.  If you are on a clenching budget and do not mind if the items do not last more than 3 years then going inexpensive is just fine.
Homegoods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls are a great place to purchase accessories, side chairs, artwork, towels and more for the starter home, college crowd, and to fill a home on a very tight budget.  We love these stores.  We stage with alot of accessories from here.
Each person should really ask and educate themselves when designing a room for how they will be using the room.  Pine framed furniture will not hold up as well as a harder wood frame on a chair or sofa.  So if you have children or use the room alot with guest, you may want to purchase items that hold up over use and time.
So in the long run, you do get what you pay for.
